I Think I Found Some Archaeology – What Should I Do?
Archaeological remains are found in many unexpected places. If you find an object you suspect may be an artifact, please get in touch!! If you find an artifact, it will not be taken away from you. Artifacts, such as arrowheads/projectile points, pottery sherds, etc. are not worth much, if any, money (check out eBay) but provide important clues for locating and therefore protecting vulnerable archaeological sites. In today’s digital age, you can take a photo (it helps to include a common object for scale, like a penny) and send the photo and approximate location of the find to knowledgeable people or organizations, including the following:
